Education Beat - Greenwich Village High School

Greenwich Village High School is one of the two new high schools opening up in Lower Manhattan next fall. $3 million dollars has been donated by a board of 18 for the start-up costs and plans to raise $12 to $17 million over the next five years. Aimee Bell, an editor at Vanity Fair came up with the idea for the high school after joking about it when asked what school her daughter was planning to go to after middle school. Aimee and her neighbor, Sara Goodman got together and composed a plan for the new high school by drawing from artsy inspirations of the neighborhood its named after. The school will start accepting applications in October for next fall.
